Sobia Ali, MD, FACG

Dr. Sobia Ali was raised in Chicago, Illinois. She completed her fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology from the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She remained there as an associate professor before moving to Tampa, Florida with her husband and three children.

A published researcher, Dr. Ali is actively involved in teaching and education in her field. She has been a practicing physician since 2009. Her main areas of interests include abdominal pain, inflammatory bowel diseases, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), irritable bowel syndrome, and hepatitis B and C.

In her spare time, Dr. Ali enjoys playing chess, reading, and spending quality time with her family. She frequently volunteers at the Red Crescent Clinic, which provides free health care to low-income families.

Lydia Phan Torres DNP, APRN, AGACNP-BC

 Lydia obtained her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Florida Atlantic University. She furthered her education and obtained her Masters degree as well as her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of South Florida. She is currently a board certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. She is passionate about building rapport with all her patients and enhancing her professional relationships throughout the multidisciplinary healthcare team. She is currently a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society and the Tampa Bay Advanced Practice Nurses Council. Her clinical interests include critical care in gerontology patients, and underserved communities lacking health care. Outside of the professional environment, Lydia likes to spend time with her family, traveling and exploring new restaurants to intrigue her taste buds.

Alexandra McAlvany, PA-C

Alexandra is a board certified physician assistant from Atlanta, GA. She completed her undergraduate education at Eckerd College and received her Masters in Medical Sciences from Mercer University. She is currently a member of the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants. Alexandra likes to spend her free time with her husband and their dog exploring Tampa Bay, fishing and gardening.
